Rep. Johnson Gets the Job Done for Highway 14
The 2013 Legislature created the Corridors of Commerce Program. The law included criteria that address roads like Highway 14.
Rep. Clark Johnson and other rural DFL Legislators insisted on a down-payment for Corridors of Commerce. This resulted in a statewide allocation of $300 million of which $35-53 million will be used in Nicollet County.
Four lanes are scheduled for construction in 2015 on Highway 14 from North Mankato to the west end of Nicollet. The construction will include a full interchange in Nicollet at Highways 111 and 14.
The Highway 14 Partnership, which includes local elected leaders and local citizens, was instrumental in keeping the attention on this important project over many years. And, the citizens of Nicollet worked together to assure the full interchange in Nicollet.
Rep. Johnson: “I’m proud to be part of the team fighting for Highway 14. We made real progress last session, but we’re not done yet. I’ll continue to work hard to complete the four lanes from Nicollet to New Ulm.”
